Tell me about it. According to her, something on the car breaks "every week"...I had to correct her...it's every other week.

I'm surprised the studs were not pressed in. GM bearings are pressed in. Perhaps it's to cut down on the size of the box / shipping / storage, etc?

But glad that fixed the problems with the rear end!

Good Morning CGs!

Got to bed at a decent hour last night so I'm feeling much better today, more energy.

Told wifey I need my garage back because I'll be working on the car soon. She said she wants one more garage sale this Saturday for one day only. I said ok. After that, anything left is going to the Vets. They come and pick it up off the porch and I prefer to donate to them. Of course this also brought up the topic of the car and new intake that I "don't need" because I just spent xxx amount of dollars two years ago. Huh? "And that thing is always breaking" she tells me. Here we go. So in a nice way I told her to KMA Eventually she understood it's my hobby so she has to deal with it. So it's over until the next project...lol.

Another long day at work today. Tomorrow I'm off so I get to do some more landscaping projects. It will be a nice change of pace. Haven't done anything in the yard in about 2 weeks or so. Need to get cracking. Might start opening the pool, too.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

nice and shiny.

You may want to pull the calipers and make sure the pins are well lubed. That will cause a pull otherwise.

Was that free shipping also?

I don't recall, but I have the Z06 Brakes and they want $150 for those.

This deal of $120 is still going on it should be the same price for yours.
The link is at the top of the page. Yours is a C5?

No mine is an 85 w/ZO6 upgrade mod in the link

Very happy camper with the new rotors. They are bedded in and the only problem is they pull a little to the left. I used my Hawk pads as they only had 8000 miles on them. It was a tight fit with the pads but it was also a tight fit with the oem rotors.

I put my old rotors up on ebay hoping to give someone a deal. It is finally funny to be Daddy Warbucks.

Thanks for posting the rotors as they were a great deal at $120 including shipping.

All back together. Much tighter and much quieter. The roar from the back is far better. I wasn't 100% sure if it was tires or the bearings, but after seeing the play in the bearings... well, they needed to be replaced. Same with the ujoints.

All is good and this funky hop I had going in reverse is gone, too.

Next up, new tires and then an alignment.

I started watching this,

It's not the docummentry I saw advertised, its about the new Shelby Mustang so, isn't that good.

ON some channel somewhere, they're doing HIS documentary including Lemans.

I think I might have a buddy locally who wants it for his 88 camaro. He told me to stop and see him tomorrow.

Ps...my wife is pissed I bought it so I had to give her a piece of my mind about how this is my only hobby and it makes me happy. I eventually got her to see my perspective.

David, go here (and list your car):

http://www.c2registry.org/

Lota VIN's listed there.

Most of the guys who have tried to contact past owners say it can take a long time.

Some start with the shipping report and a small percentage have luck contacting that Chev dealer.

Contact the guy you bought it from and see if he remembers who he got it from and do an internet search, etc.

At least on the Registry, you can calculate your car's birthday.

Neat pics there too:

Well, after 4 years I finally found one and pulled the trigger. Paid today and should ship this week. Excellent seller from TGO.

Intake is dirty from sitting but will clean up nice, no stripped holes, etc. Not sure if I'll blast it or dip and powdercoat...we'll see. Got another car buddy here who wants to look at it and give me a recommendation.

Had NOS installed, I bought without the lines.

A few pics below.

I'm excited to get it!

Are you looking at ownership history? Maybe California will let you know the PO's if you send in your VIN....

I tried to trace my 63 awhile back with the VIN and got nowhere. Nebraska will not give out current owners names. Turns out I got ahold of the guy I sold it to and he sold it to some broker back in Jersy about 10 years ago......so that was that.

You can get a repo Build Sheet from the National Corvette Museum. They also sell Window Sitckers.

If youare an NCRS member, you can get a Shipping Data Report from them.

There's also a guy on the web with a boat load of Pretecto Plates.

Thanks for that !

I am refering to ownership/dmv history report , sry for not being clear

The 1-2 accumulator is the cushion (or shock absorber) for the 1-2 shift.
The aux valve body's job it to provide shock absorption of the park to drive shift, park to reverse shift, or drive to reverse shift.
Although I have never seen an aux valve body bore worn, it is worth inspecting. It is more common for trans builders to reuse a worn accumulator piston. This is a bad idea, as the center hole that rides up and down the hardened steel guide rod wears out the pistons. If the pistons are dated, replace them. Replacements are not date stamped.
I still think your problem is in the main valve body.
If none of the above solves it, I would gravitate towards the input shaft teflon seals as being a strong possibility. Especially if the builder used the scarf cut type seals.

I love that coil over setup.

Any solutions for the front? I am going to do coil overs next time, but will, if nothing else, weld in some additional metal to support the load.

Those are some fat tires, dude!!!

Hello,

Just thought I'd let the NY members know a bunch of the BayStateCorvetteClub.com members are heading on out to Lebanon Valley Dragway next Sunday for the Drag & Show event there.

http://www.hemmings.com/events/musclepalooza.html

Hopefully some of you can make it out.

This will be my 1st time at the dragstrip with my new engine.

When I first got my Vette, a dealer told me it would cost $600 to fix the oil leak on the intake manifold. After doing a little research, I tightened 4 bolts and that took care of it.

No not really but damn close! My mechanic told me I needed a new intake manifold gasket and it would cost 300.00 bucks. Said it was replaced two years ago, drive it home, spray some carb cleaner on the runners where some research told me the runner gaskets were the culprit....Low and behold, the idle RAGED UP and went back down. 12.00 and 1 hour of time saved me 300 dollars and two days of work.

Damn leaky runner gaskets just didn't fit right and now all is well again......

Greetings! Looks like an indoors day today, gonna be a balmy 59 and rainy. We had a pretty good storm last night, hail and wind. Today is Mrs. Pianoguy's birthday, so I'll be tending to her honey-do list and taking her out to dinner later.

Enjoy your day, folks!

Got some rain last night finally. I doubt it was an inch but it all helps. Went to the movie last night and saw Battleship. Had a good time...my kinda movie...good bad guys and lots of shooting and of course a good ending. I recommend it and give it a 4.5 Guru rating out of 5.

Today church and maybe a Corvette road trip to a Cabellas store to get some supplies. They have long sleeve shirts that I like to wear for work that don't get so hot. Sun protection is something I gotta have. I have been cut on enough by my dermatologist.

Enjoy Guru's...and never forget why.....thank a veteran this weekend for helping us keep our freedoms. To all the Guru veterans....Thank you!
